Wallet passes: your brand, direct wallet links, and an updated subprocessor list
Business workspaces can now put their own name and logo on Google Wallet and Apple Wallet passes and share direct wallet links on their own domain. We added Google (Wallet API) to our subprocessors and updated our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Your brand on Wallet passes
On Business and above, each QR code can carry its own branding on the Wallet pass saved from it, set through the API's walletPass field:
- name: shown at the top of the pass, in place of your workspace name
- logo: an uploaded image, or any
httpsPNG, JPEG or WebP URL (we store a copy) - barcodeText: a short line under the QR code, such as a member name or card number
Custom branding is not available during a trial.
Direct wallet links on your own domain
Every pass now has direct links on the QR code's domain, ready for your own page, email or WhatsApp:
https://your-domain/pass/{key}/apple: adds the pass to Apple Wallethttps://your-domain/pass/{key}/google: saves the pass to Google Wallethttps://your-domain/pass/{key}/add: opens the right wallet for the phone
Issuer details on Apple passes
Apple Wallet passes signed with CodeQR's certificate now show CodeQR as the issuer, issued on behalf of your business, with our contact details on the back, as Apple requires. Your name, logo and pass title stay on the front.
Updated legal documents
- Subprocessors: we added Google (Wallet API), which receives the pass content (name, logo, title and QR code content) to create and update Google Wallet passes. See the full list at codeqr.io/legal/subprocessors.
- Terms of Use: a new Wallet passes section covers how passes are issued on your behalf, your responsibility for the names, logos and images you put on a pass, and when we may block or expire a pass. codeqr.io/terms
- Privacy Policy: a new Wallet passes section explains what pass data is shared with Google, how logos given by URL are stored, and that pass generation is recorded to prevent abuse. codeqr.io/privacy
